About Me
Hi! My name is Chelsea. I help parents navigate the myriad challenges that can arise in and around pregnancy, as well as throughout parenthood. As a mother of four small children, I know just how humbling parenting can be, and I find great meaning in supporting others through this journey.
My practice is primarily focused on women; however, I welcome all parents who are struggling with perinatal and parenting concerns. I have over 15 years of clinical experience and am certified in the treatment of perinatal mental health issues through Postpartum Support International.
I have experience working with individuals and families on a continuum of care from outpatient through inpatient hospitalization. Prior to focusing my time and attention on my private practice, I held a faculty position at the University of Colorado School of Medicine and served as a psychologist in the Pediatric Mental Health Institute at Children’s Hospital Colorado.
I earned a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of Colorado at Boulder in 2005. I graduated with my Doctor of Philosophy in Counseling Psychology from the University of Denver in 2014. I completed both my Predoctoral Internship and Postdoctoral Fellowship in the Pediatric Mental Health Institute at Children’s Hospital Colorado.
My Approach
I interact with clients in a warm and relaxed manner. I offer a comforting and supportive environment for clients to explore challenges, work toward desired goals, and grow. I believe in a collaborative therapeutic relationship. I recognize that individuals and families know themselves best and value their input and feedback throughout the therapeutic process. I tailor my approach to meet the needs of my clients and implement a variety of evidence-based methods in our work together. More information on the specific methods I use to treat different problems can be found on the specialty page listings on my website. I love working with people during their pregnancy, postpartum, and parenting journeys as these are such transformative stages of life. I believe strongly in the power of the therapeutic relationship and process. It is truly a privilege to do the work I do, and I would be honored to help you.
